The Vermont variation on the classic south of the boarder Margarita replaces the typical agave syrup with our own Monsalvat Farm Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup that complements the smokiness of the reposado tequila for a richer tasting cocktail. Garnished with a smoked salt rim, the Maple Margarita is one smoldering looking and tasting cocktail.
- 1 1/2 oz. reposado tequila
- 1 oz. orange liqueur
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz. Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
- smoked flake sea salt
- lime wedge
Pour a small amount of maple syrup on a small plate and a thin layer of smoked salt on a second small plate. Coat the rim of a tumbler glass with maple syrup, then dredge the coated rim in the salt, and set aside.
Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain contents of shake into the prepared tumbler over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
